This session will outline an extensive 5th grade model food truck unit. The lesson will provide tools, resources, and materials needed to bring food trucks to your classroom. The session will begin by sharing lesson outlines that will participants through introductory activities and student led research and planning. The session will demonstrate how students worked with “business partners” to design their own unique 1”:12” scale food truck concept including menus, themes, food truck interiors, exteriors, and lots. Additionally, students used Canva’s AI Magic Student to design custom logos for their food truck concept. 3D modeling and printing were also used to design and print working wheels for the student projects. Although this unit was designed for intermediate level students, applications can be made to middle school and high school levels.
