Date & Time

Description
Teaching students how to communicate through their own self-produced videos is more important than ever to help them understand media. In the film and broadcast media studio, students learn media by doing media. It’s collaborative and authentic learning where students work together to plan, write, film, and edit stories on video while planning, writing, and producing (live) broadcasts that tell stories. Whether attendees are looking to build a F&BM program or just looking to produce a single unit, this workshop will provide a blueprint for how to do it. Attendees of the workshop will... -Learn how to create a broadcast program or unit that lets students be the media producers -Describe different types of journalistic media (news, feature stories, editorials, etc.) -Witness through videos the skills students learn (collaborative, creative, technical, academic [writing, journalism]) -Learn how to build a F&BM program with available resources (financial, human, peer support).
