Our session will be a multimedia, interactive exploration of research-backed strategies and classroom applications. We'll use adult learning strategies to engage with various pedagogical approaches. Perceptual cues are often unconsciously used by teachers in math education. We'll define perceptual cues, discuss their research-backed effectiveness, offer examples for easy integration in math classrooms. Academic discourse significantly enhances student understanding and retention in math. We'll explore its research basis in constructivism, share strategies for teachers to foster discourse, and introduce the OKO platform for small group implementations. Our session will include an academic lecture segment for research exploration. We'll provide interactive activities like videos and discussion prompts to foster participation. Additionally, participants can engage hands-on with the technology platforms covered in the session.
