Name
When Tech, Makerspace, and Library Join Forces: Co-Designing for All Learners
Date & Time
Wednesday, October 16, 2024, 2:45 PM - 3:40 PM
Description
This workshop empowers educators to create dynamic, interdisciplinary learning experiences by harnessing the power of Tech, Makerspace, and Library collaboration. Teachers often feel siloed and lack the time to design project-based learning that helps them meet multiple curricular goals. When our EdTech specialist, makerspace teacher, and library team joined forces to weave together academic tech skills, design thinking principles, research and AI literacy, we found that we could not only address more learner variability, but also model co-designing for the rest of our faculty. This session will take participants through project examples and the planning/designing process behind them. Participants will learn about digital tools for collaboration and strategies for fostering meaningful partnerships across multiple subject areas and grade levels. Toward the end of our session, we will explore ways to integrate and adapt these tools and strategies into various school communities.
