Description
The purpose of this presentation is to explore the range of coding exercises that can take form in the elementary classroom to reach all learners. The session will explore the use of introductory non-tech coding lessons designed to familiarize students with coding language and will progress to tech based code using robots, Scratch, Lego and more.The session will showcase a range of projects exploring mazes, binary code drawing, Bee Bots, Makey Makey, Chibitronics, Littlebits, and Hummingbird Robotics. Each project is designed to target a specific age group ( i.e. early elementary, intermediate, and middle school) and will include adaptations to be accessible by a wide range of skill and grade levels. Projects will be accompanied with videos, resources, and materials to make learning a success. While gaining a better understanding of the process and outcome of these projects, participants will also learn about apps and web based programs.
