Independence in learning is vital to student growth and success. This skill can be challenging to teach- especially for our youngest learners. Difficult- but possible. Through this session, primary educators will be introduced to the Seesaw learning platform and provided with steps to start students on the path to independent learning utilizing the app. The facilitator will systematically explain the implementation of independent learning with Seesaw, starting with basic connectivity, moving through “how-to” interactive activities, and concluding with the basics of how to create activities, including ones that are self-correcting. Participants will also learn how to foster pride in learning through family connections. The facilitator will show participants how to utilize the app to communicate with families, allow students to directly share their work, and for adults to offer positive feedback from both the classroom and home.
