Purpose: To share the value and research of integrating makerspaces into your lesson design. Provide overview of makerspaces, share research of impact of makerespaces in elementary , middle, high, and special education classes. Participants will have an opportunity to engage in one of the provided makerspace activities. Objectives: -Learn of opportunities afforded by makerspaces to enhance student engagement. -Learn of some activities/resources to integrate into makerspaces. -Session examples of makerspace activities include papercircuits, 3D design, and block coding. Participant Take-Aways -Padlet board sharing resources to support makerspaces. -Share research on the value and impact of makerspaces to support student engagement. -Share ISTE Standards addressed in this presentation. -Reflection on the skills developed through makerspaces. -Share makerspace design examples and best practices for makerspace implementation
