Students at MCCPS use Student Led Conferences and student portfolios to document their learning, set new goals and make their learning visible. With the support of their teachers they can demonstrate how far they have come and focus on future growth and experiences. The processes we use are designed to be adaptable to all students with scaffolds, organizers, sentence frames and technology support. This ensures that students of a wide variety of backgrounds, life experiences and learning styles can create a personalized portfolio to document their learning and skill development over time. We combine the art of public speaking, goal setting and reflection to help students share what they have learned and how they have learned it. Presenters in this interactive workshop will share the scaffolds, organizational strategies and structures they use to ensure that all of our students are able to successfully document their growth, set strong goals and celebrate their successes.
