Participants will gain an understanding of how one district has grown their CS program with a timeline of 20+ years of CS integration in Narragansett, RI, insights to personal experiences which helped to accommodate more CS opportunities for students in grades 5-12 and steps taken by teachers and staff to establish CTE pathways for CS at the high school level. Participants will learn about the challenges and successes experienced by the district over the years, and gain insights into the best practices that have been developed. The poster is aimed at anyone who is interested in advocating for CS opportunities in their district, including teachers, instructional coaches, and administrators. By engaging with the presenter, participants will be able to brainstorm actionable next steps for building a strong K-12 CS pathway of their own.
