Description
The application of VR in the classroom provides a significant opportunity to increase student engagement across disciplines. This is specifically important post COVID where the traditional classroom approach no longer holds students attention, and abstract/critical thinking skills are on the decline in student populations. Students often have a difficult time visualizing concepts that are abstract. These concepts are often represented through static models such as the model of the solar system or that of an organic molecule, those of cellular structure and microanatomy of specific tissues. With VR, teachers can expose students to models that are dynamic and interactive, increasing the likelihood that students engage in learning the abstract concepts as well as access the curriculum in a novel and realistic way.
