Name
No Student is an Island – Building a Culture of Support on Martha’s Vineyard
Date & Time
Thursday, October 17, 2024, 2:45 PM - 3:40 PM
Description
For the past several years, my team at the Oak Bluffs School have worked to implement several strategies for supporting the Island’s diverse learners. Our focus on MTSS is strengthened with our comprehensive approach to using data to aid instruction and administrative decision-making. As a small school district of fewer than 450 students, implementing these strategies requires creativity. While our challenges may be the same as much larger districts, our capacity is not. Our support of diverse learners has required the school district to foster public-private partnerships and cross-district collaboration. I would love to share some of these strategies for creative capacity building with the MassCUE attendees. My presentation will be interactive, with a series of questions for participants and opportunities for them to share some of their challenges. The primary focus will be on creating win-win vendor relationships and building a culture of support amongst the district staff.
