All K-5 students at Beal Elementary School have been learning about Computer Science and Computation thinking using the CSforALL curriculum developed by Springfield educators. Students are now taking that knowledge and applying and integrating it throughout their educational experiences. In this Student Showcase participants will learn how students are applying their CS knowledge to engage in science curriculum in an engaging and authentic way. Participants will learn how CS can be integrated into existing curriculum. The purpose of this Student Showcase is for participants to see concrete examples of CS integration, and to experience firsthand the joy students experience being empowered to express themselves and their learning through the tools of Computer Science. While science is the specific content area for CS integration, the lessons learned and methods used can be generalized to all content areas.
