Unfiltered: What 5th Graders Really Think About Screens and School
Description

What do students really think about technology at home and at school? In this unique, student-led session, 5th graders take the stage to share their unfiltered perspectives on screens, learning, AI, and digital life. Participants will engage directly with students through a guided panel and interactive conversations, gaining authentic insight into how technology shapes their experiences, habits, and learning. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions, challenge assumptions, and listen to perspectives that are often missing from professional conversations. This session moves beyond adult-driven narratives to center student voice, offering a rare window into the realities of today’s learners. Educators will leave with a deeper understanding of student experiences and practical takeaways to better align classroom practices, expectations, and technology use with the needs of modern learners.
