AI + PBL: Making Project Based Learning Smarter
Description
AI + PBL: Making Project Based Learning Smarter shows how artificial intelligence can strengthen Project Based Learning for both teachers and students without replacing student thinking. Designed for grades 6–12 educators across both content and CTE areas, this session first explores how teachers can use AI to generate project ideas, essential questions, rubrics, timelines, differentiation supports, and engaging real-world scenarios. It then shifts to how students can use AI responsibly to brainstorm, research, revise, organize, problem solve, and improve presentations while maintaining ownership of their work. Participants will examine strategies for ethical AI use, preventing misuse, and designing projects that prioritize creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, and authentic learning. Attendees will actively engage by analyzing prompts, evaluating examples, redesigning assignments, and planning classroom applications they can use immediately.
