Beyond Believing Everything: A Framework Any Teacher Can Use Tomorrow
Description
Students encounter misinformation, AI-generated content, and manipulative media every day and most cannot tell the difference. Fewer than 1 in 20 high school students questioned a climate science website funded by the fossil fuel industry. It is a teachable skill gap that belongs in every classroom. I.A.M. a Curious Skeptic is an integrated K–12 framework covering information, media, and AI literacy. One essential per grade, mapped to existing lessons across all subjects. No unit redesign. No new curriculum. Just small, research-grounded moves that fit inside what teachers already do. Participants explore the three-layer framework, try a hands-on mapping activity in their own content area, and leave with a grade-specific "I can" statement and sample tasks. Applicable to ELA, science, social studies, math, and any classroom where students encounter information.
