A Menu for Every Mind: Merging UDL & AI to Support Diverse Learners
Description
This session addresses the time-consuming nature of differentiation by reframing the K-8 classroom as a “kitchen” where the educator acts as the executive chef, adjusting the educational menu for diverse needs. Rather than creating a different lesson for each student, or relying on reactive accommodations and modifications in the moment, teachers will learn how to merge the foundational pedagogy of UDL with advanced AI tools to build an efficient, inclusive learning environment in all academic content areas. Participants will discover ways to provide students with an educational “buffet,” where accessibility is built in from the start, through “taste tests” of tools and opportunities for individual or group exploration. By the end of the session, participants will be able to apply UDL guidelines and leverage a curated suite of AI tools (including Read&Write, Goblin Tools, and NotebookLM, and more) to support students with diverse learning and executive functioning needs.
