Beyond Borders: Leveraging Digital Tools to Enhance Global Education in the Classroom
Description
The use of objects, artifacts, and primary sources fosters critical thinking skills, inspires curiosity, and creates life-long learners who will engage thoughtfully, connect compassionately, and contribute positively to the global community. Digital tools support this through high engagement, real-world problem solving, and creating connections between global communities. This librarian led session is tied to SS/ELA content. Participants will define global education, explore digital tools, and identify curriculum areas for integration. The facilitator will provide context around global education, demonstrate online resources, and show examples of easily adaptable lessons that use these digital tools. Educators will collaboratively brainstorm ways to use these tools, and reflect on specific uses in their individual instructional setting. Attendees will leave with a digital tool-kit of resources and have actionable steps to create lessons that support learning in our interconnected world
