Beyond the Poster Board: Empowering Students as Digital Creators
Description
Students live in a world where learning is visual, interactive, and digital, yet many classroom projects still ask students to research, copy facts, add pictures, and present. This beginner-friendly session helps elementary and middle school teachers move beyond poster projects and transform assignments into opportunities for creativity, critical thinking, interaction, and communication. Participants will explore ideas across ELA, math, science, and social studies, including podcasts, infographics, videos, digital books, interactive presentations, digital math explanations, AI interactions, and communicating thinking with parents. The focus is not more screen time; it is more meaningful learning time. Participants will see how creation leads to deeper understanding by asking students to question, explain, apply, and communicate what they know. Participants will redesign a traditional project and leave with practical, low-stress ideas they can use right away.
