Building AI-Ready Learners: A 9th Grade Literacy Framework
Description
Last school year, Foxborough High School implemented a nine‑lesson AI literacy sequence for all 9th graders—an intentional effort to prepare students for a world where AI is rapidly reshaping how they learn, communicate, and make decisions. This session shares the design of that curriculum, the topics explored, and what we learned from bringing these conversations into the freshman classroom. Participants will walk away with a clear picture of how AI literacy can be scaffolded for early high school students and how schools can equip teens with the critical thinking skills needed to navigate an AI‑shaped future. By the end of the session, participants will be able to identify core concepts essential to a 9th-grade AI literacy curriculum and explore the full nine-lesson sequence taught at FHS, view sample student work and discussion artifacts, lesson structures, classroom-tested strategies, and adaptable templates.
