In a world of click bait, misinformation, and AI Overview influx, research is more difficult than ever to teach. We will kick off with an analysis of the modern digital landscape, where "anyone can make a website," making it difficult to discern fact from misinformation. We will contrast the limitations of the general internet search with the more reliable Gale databases, and Britannica School; these platforms provide critical features for diverse learners, including adjustable reading levels, translation tools, and text-to-speech accessibility. Participants will learn about mybib.com and built-in database citation tools to ensure academic integrity paired with these tools for replacing "search engine research" with targeted database inquiry. Educators will have time to evaluate their current practices and/ or develop new lessons and projects. By the end, educators will leave with practical reference sheets plus a clear strategy for promoting vetted sources in every subject.
