From Page to Practice: Teaching The Anxious Generation in Middle School IT Class
Description
Help students understand the impact of technology on their daily llives starts with this 5-class unit, built around The Anxious Generation by Jonathan Haidt. In this unit I created space for 7th graders to explore technology through reading, reflection, and project work, with most of it happening off-screen.
Students choose to work independently, with a partner, or in small groups, apply their thinking through projects like designing physical games, producing a press conference, creating hallway billboards, or developing/delivering a community action plan.
Students love this project! You’ll leave with a ready-to-use unit plan with all the templates for readings, project planning, and rubrics (books not included).
