Name
From Standards to Instruction: Designing Coherent Learning with AI
Description
AI can quickly generate classroom activities, but often without alignment or coherence. In this hands-on session, participants will use AI to move from standards to instruction by designing coherent, standards-aligned learning experiences. The focus is on building connected sequences, not isolated tasks. Participants will begin with a standard, generate an initial task, and refine it to ensure alignment and appropriate cognitive demand. They will then extend that task into a short learning sequence that includes scaffolding, opportunities for student thinking, and feedback cycles. Examples will span content areas including ELA, math, and science. Participants will actively design and revise materials aligned to their own curriculum and leave with a clear, repeatable process for using AI to create instruction that maintains rigor, increases access, and supports meaningful learning.
