Fueling the Embers of Educators at the Intersection of Authentic and Artificial Intelligence
Description
Flame vs. Ember: Flame teaching is intense and performative. The system rewards it, but it burns through fuel fast. Not Ember teaching. Embers sustain a fire, generating steady, lasting warmth from within, fueled by emotional intelligence rather than performance pressure. In K-12, both authentic and artificial intelligence can feel overwhelming. But the real opportunity isn’t choosing between them. It’s learning to harness both. Emotional intelligence has been systematically crowded out by content and compliance demands. AI, used intentionally, can help restore it. This session is pro-human first, and pro-technology that serves the human. Participants: use an asset-based technology lens to examine their own emotional intelligence anchors, and how AI can actively support their self-care and self-preservation. build a personal Ember Map merging authentic intelligence with intentional AI practices, guided by reflection and self-inquiry leave with an action plan to ‘burn in, not out’.
