Teaching Beyond the Canvas: Integrating Wearable Art into Creative Curriculum
Description
Wearable art is an engaging medium that fosters self-expression and critical thinking. The presentation will demonstrate methods and materials to design, create and fabricate wearable works which utilize cardboard engineering, articulated and moving structures, technology such as laser cutting, 3D printing, circuits, and repurposed materials as fashion. Each showcase will highlight the diverse ways educators utilize planning documents, prototyping, and various materials as tools to show students how they dream and fabricate wonderful works of wearable art. Integrating wearable art into curricula nurtures innovation, craftsmanship for Art Educators and their students.
