Same Standards, Different Access: Using AI & AT to Reach Every Learner
Description

The gap between grade-level expectations and a student's instructional level is one of the most persistent challenges in inclusive education, and educators are often left to bridge it with limited time and resources. In this session, an experienced AT Specialist shares how she supports teachers in selecting and using AI and AT tools to transform standard assignments into accessible, engaging learning experiences. Participants will be able to: Review the principles of UDL, Apply the SETT Framework to help guide curriculum modification decisions, Use AI tools as the starting point to generate a modified curriculum, and Match specific AI & AT tools to individual student needs. Participants will see real-life examples of how tools can modify reading, writing, and content-area tasks across settings. Participants will leave with ready-to-use strategies to begin modifying curriculum in ways that honor both curriculum standards and the diverse needs of their students.
