The session will be broken down into key areas, from an introduction, working through key terms, how to identify, steps to take, and resources to support when working with students and families. Introduction and Overview (10 minutes) Importance of cybersecurity in education Overview of common digital threats in schools / key terms Identifying Cyber Threats (30 minutes) Understanding key terms such as malware, ransomware, and phishing attacks Real-life examples of cyber threats in schools Interactive portion for attendees to identify phishing scams, for example Impact of cyber attacks (10 minutes) Security Measures to take (20 minutes) Best practices for internet safety Importance of two-factor authentication Activities for attendees to explore Advocacy and Building Awareness 10 minutes)
