Screens Don't Equal Learning: Rethinking Tech in the Classroom
Description
Technology is everywhere in today’s classrooms—but more screen time doesn’t automatically mean more learning. This session explores the difference between digital engagement and meaningful academic growth, focusing on what effective tech use actually looks like in K–5 settings. Through practical examples and clear frameworks, participants will learn to distinguish between passive and active screen use, evaluate the impact of digital tools, and identify when technology enhances learning—or simply keeps students busy. Attendees will leave with actionable strategies for making intentional decisions about classroom technology and creating a better balance between screen-based and hands-on learning.
