Technology: The Bridge to Inclusive Improvement
Description
Students with disabilities continue to lag behind peers in academic achievement, graduation rates, & post-school outcomes despite decades of research on effective instruction, neuroscience, & learner variability. One major barrier is the separation of special education from general education systems. This interactive session explores how technology can bridge those silos while increasing access & support for all learners. Participants will examine how intentional technology integration can normalize learner variability, strengthen learner agency, reduce stigma around accommodations, & raise expectations for achievement across content areas. Through reflection, discussion, and collaborative problem-solving, participants will a) identify systemic and attitudinal barriers to effective inclusion of students with disabilities & b) develop practical strategies for using technology to improve learning outcomes for all in school & beyond.
