Beyond the Spreadsheet: Using Language Growth to Support Better MTSS Decisions
Description
Multilingual learners (MLs) are often over-assessed yet under-supported instructionally. Schools collect large amounts of data, yet educators frequently struggle to translate that information into instructional action.
This workshop explores how AI-supported workflows, including L.I.L.A, can help educators monitor multilingual learner language growth, identify instructional next steps, and support more informed MTSS conversations. Grounded in WIDA language development principles and asset-based practices, participants will examine through demonstrations, classroom examples, and discussion how emerging technologies can support language-growth analysis and instructional planning without replacing educator expertise.
Examples will include multilingual learner planning across content areas and implementation examples currently supporting Connecticut schools.
