When Ideas Get Stuck: Practical Tech Solutions for Written Expression Challenges
Description
Students with dyslexia and written language disabilities often have strong verbal ideas but struggle to translate those ideas into written text. This session explores how assistive and inclusive technology tools can reduce that barrier and support students through the entire writing process—from idea generation to composition and revision. Participants will learn practical strategies using tools such as word prediction, text-to-speech, AI-supported brainstorming, and alternative drafting methods that do not rely on traditional graphic organizers or speech-to-text. Attendees will leave with ready-to-use strategies and a toolkit of accessible technologies that can be implemented immediately to support written expression across grade levels.
