Teaching in the Age of Generative AI
Description
Interdisciplinary/All Content Areas-- Purpose & Objectives: As generative AI challenges academic integrity, this session moves educators away from flawed, punitive AI detection—which disproportionately penalizes English Language Learners—and toward proactive pedagogical reform. Participants will learn to establish clear AI boundaries, restructure assessments to grade the writing process over the product, and use digital tracking tools to ensure authentic student authorship. Content & Engagement: Grounded in DESE values, the content introduces the "TAKI" framework (Transparency, Accountability, Knowledgeability, Integrity). Educators will learn practical workflows using Google Docs version history, Brisk Inspect, and GoGuardian. To stay actively engaged, participants will audit their own syllabi to set AI guidelines, run a live Brisk simulation to analyze writing playbacks, and role-play student coaching conferences.
