Using Technology to Support Translanguaging for ELL

Come learn how to use technology tools to promote translanguaging for ELLs, empowering multilingual speakers to utilize their entire linguistic repertoire for communication and meaning-making. In this session, we will explore Google Translate, Gemini, Brisk, and Canva, alongside key instructional strategies like chunking, altering reading levels, and creating guided notes. Participants will master step-by-step workflows to quickly adjust text difficulty and translate resources into multiple languages using the Brisk Extension, as well as learn how to seamlessly translate full presentation slides with Canva. We will also cover practical ways to chunk complex information into manageable parts and automatically generate scaffolds and guided notes directly from any website or file. Complete with live demonstrations and ready-to-use teacher templates, this session will provide you with immediate, actionable tools to support your multilingual learners.
