AI in the Elementary School
Description

AI is rapidly changing education, but what does it actually look like in an elementary classroom? In this session, participants will learn how a veteran elementary public school teacher uses AI to increase student engagement, creativity, and learning across K-5 classrooms. Attendees will explore practical, age-appropriate ideas for reading, writing, math, storytelling, lesson design, classroom games, differentiation, and project creation while keeping authentic student thinking at the center of instruction. Participants will see real classroom examples, explore current AI tools and strategies, and discuss ways AI can support teacher creativity and productivity without replacing meaningful learning experiences. The session will also include conversations around responsible AI use and AI literacy. Attendees will leave with practical ideas and classroom-ready strategies they can immediately implement.
