Name
AI Ethics And Digital Citizenship: Teaching Students to Think Critically About AI
Description
As AI becomes common in classrooms, students must learn not only how to use it but when and why. This session centers student empowerment rather than teacher productivity. Participants will examine real-world AI ethics cases—biased hiring algorithms, data privacy in learning platforms, and deepfakes—while learning facilitation techniques for age-appropriate discussions. Attendees will receive classroom-ready activities that develop students' critical thinking about AI so learners can evaluate tools, understand ethical risks, and create responsibly. By the end, students will be informed consumers and creators of AI rather than passive users.
