Code to Read™: Where Phonics Meets Robotics and Computer Science
Description
Code to Read™ pairs phonics and coding with a standards aligned curriculum with the Blue-Bot programmable robot, turning phonics practice into a hands-on coding mission. Instead of sitting and listening, students program a robot to physically navigate letters, sounds, and blends building decoding skills and computational thinking at the same time. This session walks educators through sample lessons spanning letter-sound correspondence, phonics patterns, and CVC word decoding, with a focus on how the approach supports struggling readers, English Language Learners, and students with disabilities. Attendees will leave with ready-to-use activities and a clear model for embedding STEM tools into a daily literacy block without adding prep time.
