Laura Tavares is an educator and nonprofit leader who has dedicated her career to helping schools and communities reimagine what education can be. After teaching in New York City and Boston, Laura held a variety of leadership positions at the global non-profit Facing History and Ourselves. As Executive Director of the non-profit WPS Institute, Laura leads the organization's work to help schools and communities build capacity, resources and networks for innovation. A first-generation college graduate of Wellesley College and a Rhodes Scholar with graduate degrees from Oxford, Laura brings both personal and professional experience to creating learning ecosystems that are engaging, connected to the real world, and designed to foster youth agency and purpose.
