DonorsChoose is a nonprofit platform where teachers can request resources for their students. Not every resource is within a district’s budget, especially when we want to try something new, so DC connects teachers with a community of donors eager to fund classroom projects. DonorsChoose makes it possible to bring innovative resources to all classrooms, so all students can have equitable digital access. Over the past ten years I have had 175+ projects funded for my students, including digital subscriptions, innovative STEM resources like robots, STEM kits, Makerspace materials, and more! As a DC Ambassador, I support teachers in my district with getting started, creating projects, identifying matches that will benefit our students, and connecting with supporters. I will share an overview of how DC works, and quick steps for creating an account and writing a project proposal, along with my best tips for using DonorsChoose to bring your dream resources to your classroom!
