Kyra S. Brissette, MBA, is the Chief Executive Officer of Media Literacy Now, where she leads the national movement to advance media literacy education through advocacy, coalition‑building, and policy change. She is committed to ensuring that all students develop the critical thinking skills needed to evaluate information, question what they see, and navigate an increasingly complex digital world shaped by AI and social media skills essential for well‑being, future success, and informed citizenship.
Since joining Media Literacy Now in 2022 as Chief Operating Officer and Director of Development, Kyra has strengthened the organization’s operational infrastructure, led multi‑state strategic planning, expanded philanthropic partnerships, and overseen major initiatives including the Science & Digital Wellness collaboration. Her leadership has been central to building sustainable systems, diversifying revenue, and positioning MLN as a national thought leader in media literacy policy.
With more than two decades of experience in nonprofit leadership, fundraising strategy, and program development, Kyra has held roles across education, youth development, and public health, including positions at the March of Dimes, the Rose Kennedy Greenway Conservancy, and Boston University. She holds an MBA from Boston University and a BA from Hampshire College.
